{"id":294,"date":"2020-04-18T14:50:39","date_gmt":"2020-04-18T12:50:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.100.60\/?page_id=294"},"modified":"2020-06-20T09:31:13","modified_gmt":"2020-06-20T07:31:13","slug":"irish-white-soda-bread","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ericscookbook.com\/index.php\/recipes\/irish-white-soda-bread\/","title":{"rendered":"Irish White Soda Bread"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Yield: 1 loaf<br>Time: 1 hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 c unbleached bread flour<br>1 tsp sea salt<br>\u00be tsp baking soda<br>1 \u00bd c buttermilk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Preheat oven to 450\u00b0F<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl.\u00a0 Make a well in the center and pour 2\/3 of the buttermilk into it.\u00a0 Using one hand, mix the flour into the wet ingrediients.\u00a0 Add more milk to create a soft dough.\u00a0 When it all comes together, turn it out onto a floured board and knead lightly for a few seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pat the dough into a round about 1\u2033 thick and cut a \u2018cross\u2019 (X)\u00a0into it.\u00a0 Let the cuts go over the sides of the bread.\u00a0 Bake on a baking sheet in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.\u00a0 Turn oven down to 350\u00b0F and bake for another 20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tap the bottom to check for doneness.\u00a0 Tapping should sound hollow when bread is\u00a0done.\u00a0 Cool on a wire rack for ten minutes before serving.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Traditional Irish soda bread leavened with baking soda &#038; buttermilk.
